Is that a fire place???
Where all the serious snoozing (or is is schmoozing???) is done...
Yeah... we're all focused on the speaker and paying attention... Hey, what was that that just flew by?...
For serious business "meetings"...
And this is where all the really serious "work" gets done...
More details to follow.
The 2006 Entrepreneurial Connections (EntConnect) conference will be held out in Denver, Colorado and is scheduled for the weekend of March 23-26, 2006. Although open to all entrepreneurs or even anyone who is interested in the concept, many of the attendees are technical entrepreneurs and former readers of Midnight Engineering magazine. EntConnect is the successor to the ENTCON conference, which succeeded the original ME-Ski conference.
The skiers do their thing on Friday, the rest of us get together in the late afternoon and early evening for "networking", followed by a group dinner. Conference sessions run all day Saturday, and Sunday morning. There is usually a smaller group that has a group lunch Sunday afternoon.
Attendance typically runs around 25 people, plus or minus a few.
The eternal question is always whether Bill Gates (William E. Gates, former publisher of Midnight Engineering magazine) will attend the conference. He did in fact attend EntConnect 2005, on Friday and Saturday.
The details for the 2006 conference will eventually be posted on the Official EntConnect Entrepreneurial Connections web site.
Also take a look at two presentations, pictures, and movies from EntConnect 2004 by entrepreneur Dave Shaver.
Here's a descriptive blurb from past conferences...
EntConnect offers an opportunity to meet with other entrepreneurs, discussing topics like New Internet Technologies, presented by Bill French, co-inventor of Lap Link; entrepreneurial law; marketing; balancing the personal and business sides of our lives; fun with microcontrollers; working with lawyers and the legal system; video, audio, and digital photography as it relates to computers and the Internet; learning what we really do in our businesses; and much much more.
Please join Patty Taylor, Les Squires, Bill French, John Gaudio and a number of their technically inclined fellow entrepreneurs as they gather in Denver, Colorado to share ideas and learn about technology, business, and life in the world of entrepreneurs. All this in a laid back atmosphere with time for good food, a few drinks, a little skiing and the chance to meet friends, associates, future partners, and a great bunch of people who love technology and "organize or manage business undertakings, assuming the risk for the sake of the profit."
A great deal has changed in the last three years, yet opportunities abound if we look in the right places. Our greatest treasures lie not in our portfolios, our bank accounts, or the property we own, but in the relationships we have with God, ourselves, family members, friends, and those with whom we work, play, and learn. They come also, as Earl Nightingale said, from "the gold mind between your ears." [or is it "the gold mined between your ears" or even "the gold mine between your ears"?] Please share some of your insights, knowledge, wisdom, advice, and expertise with your entrepreneurial friends this March.
As always, John Gaudio will be the Master of Ceremonies...

Please note that you do not have to be part of the skiing crowd to participate in the "business" parts of the conference.
